NOVI SAD REPRESENTATIVES TAKING PART IN THE “DAYS OF SERBIA IN NIZHNY NOVGOROD” EVENT

Head of the Local Economic Development Office of the City of Novi Sad, prof.  Marijana Dukić Mijatović , PhD, accompanied by the Head of the Mayor’s Office Mr. Aleksandar Petrović, attended the event “Days of Serbia in Nizhny Novgorod”, as members of the delegation of our country.

On this occasion the Cooperation Agreement between the “Lobachevsky” University from Nizhny Novgorod and the University of Novi Sad was signed, together with the Agreement between the “Lobachevsky” University and the “Matica Srpska” institution of Serbia, while the event was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in the Russian Federation, H.E. Slavenko Terzić.

- Novi Sad values the international cooperation, but also the cooperation with the University as a place of innovations and a hub of young professionals from many fields that represent the greatest potential of each city and state. Consequently, today's signing of the Agreement can be viewed as a positive and significant step in development of both the institutions and the communities in which they are located and where they operate. The City has a very good cooperation with the University, whose representatives are also the members of the Economic Council of the City of Novi Sad, whose main task is to establish better cooperation between the private and public sectors and to propose ways and forms of cooperation to achieve a common goal – the economic development of the City, prof. Marijana Dukić Mijatović, PhD, emphasized.

The City of Novi Sad representatives were received by the Head of the City Administration of Nizhny Novgorod Mr. Oleg Kondrashov, and they also visited the Chamber of Commerce of that City.

- Culture, education, sport, economy, tourism are just some of the areas of social life that have linked the two sister cities and two sister nations. I would like to wish a successful organization of the event ''Days of Serbia in Nizhny Novgorod” to our hosts, to the delight of all participants and numerous visitors, and to all of us I wish that the inseparable ties between the two cities and two nations  remain forever – Mr. Aleksandar Petrović said.

During the visit to the twin city, Novi Sad representatives also discussed modalities for promoting fruitful cooperation between Novi Sad and Nizhny Novgorod, establishing of closer ties and joint participation in projects of mutual interest.
