NOVI SAD TO HOST INTERNATIONAL CYCLING RACE IN OCTOBER

Novi Sad will be the host of one of the four stages of the 64th edition of the international cycling competition "Tour of Serbia", organized by the Cycling Federation of Serbia from October 16 to 19. Mayor of Novi Sad, Žarko Mićin, held a working meeting at the City Hall with the organizers, during which the goals and technical details of this important sporting event were defined.

- Novi Sad will once again proudly host a stage of the 'Tour of Serbia'. This event plays an important role in promoting sports and tourism in our city, but also in our entire country. As in previous years, we will make every effort to ensure the organization is at the highest level, and to show all participants and guests our hospitality and provide them with good conditions for competition. Novi Sad is strongly committed to the development of cycling infrastructure. We currently have around 150 kilometers of cycling paths, about 50 kilometers of which have been built in the last 13 years. We are expecting the second phase of construction of the Novi Sad – Rumenka – Irmovo – Čenej route, which will result in a new 20-kilometer track. In addition, we are continuing with subsidies for citizens of Novi Sad for the purchase of new bicycles - said Žarko Mićin, who, as mayor of the host city, also became a member of the race's organizing committee.

President of the Cycling Federation of Serbia, Dušan Gojić, emphasized that this event, of special interest to the Republic of Serbia, is traditionally supported by the Government of the Republic of Serbia, and that cyclists, organized in over twenty teams from all continents, will cover more than 500 kilometers across the roads of Serbia.

The meeting was also attended by City Council member for Sports and Youth atjana Medved; City Council member for Utility and Inspection Affairs Danijela Andrić; City Council member for Traffic and Roads Aleksandar Bulajić; President of the Vojvodina Association of Cycling Clubs Ivan Arpaš; as well as representatives of the Novi Sad Police Department, Traffic Police, Emergency Medical Service Institute, and others.
