MAYOR MIĆIN DISCUSSED FUTURE COOPERATION WITH CHINESE DELEGATION

The Mayor of Novi Sad Žarko Mićin received today at the City Hall representatives of the Commission for Supervision and Management of State-Owned Assets of the Government of Shandong Province, led by Director Liu Jianjun, as well as a delegation from the company “Shandong Hi-Speed Group”.

During the talks, the development priorities of the City of Novi Sad in the field of infrastructure were discussed, with special emphasis on the project for the construction of a pedestrian and cycle bridge to be implemented by “Shandong Hi-Speed Group”.

Mayor Mićin highlighted that Novi Sad attaches great importance to cooperation with Chinese partners, recalling that relations between the Republic of Serbia and the People’s Republic of China are at their highest historical level, thanks to the “steel friendship” between the two countries and the comprehensive strategic partnership established by the President of the Republic of Serbia  Aleksandar Vučić and the President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping.

The interlocutors also reflected on the recent visit of the Novi Sad delegation to the capital of Shandong Province, Jinan, during which discussions were held on further improving cooperation in the areas of municipal infrastructure, transport, the economy, and new renewable energy sources. It was assessed that the visit represented an important step towards establishing even stronger institutional and economic ties, and creating the conditions for the implementation of new joint projects.

Participants in the meeting expressed mutual readiness to continue an intensive dialogue and cooperation, with the belief that there is significant scope for future investments and projects that will contribute to the further development of Novi Sad and the strengthening of friendly relations between Serbia and China.

The meeting was attended, in addition to the Mayor, by members of the City Council, as well as members of the Mayor’s Office and the City Administration.
