The flag and the coat of arms

The flag and the coat of arms

The City has its flag and the coat of arms. The coat of arms features a baroque-style shield with its upper field in blue, depicting three separated round silver-white ashlar towers with crenulated rooftops. The towers have their gates closed and windows open. Over the middle tower – which is slightly larger than the other two – flies a white dove carrying an olive branch in its beak. The lower field is in green and features a white silver-river.

The flag is light-blue. Within its center it features the City coat of arms in white. The use, display and design of the City flag are all regulated by City Assembly rulings. Both the flag and the coat of arms can appear alongside the state insignia. Within the official Municipal premises, the order of precedence is as follows: the state insignia, the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina flag and coat of arms, the Novi Sad flag and coat of arms, alongside the insignia of national minorities whose language is in official use.
