BRITISH AMBASSADOR VISITS NOVI SAD

Novi Sad Mayor Miloš Vučević has met the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Serbia H.E. Sian MacLeod at the City Hall. The officials discussed the opportunities to further enhance good relations especially in the areas of culture, education and economy.

Vučević said that Novi Sad and Norwich, as twin cities, have been cooperating well for decades, and that both Peter and the late Diana Beckley, as honorary citizens, have contributed greatly to strengthening of their mutual ties.

The Ambassador MacLeod thanked for the warm welcome and congratulated the Mayor on the prestigious European titles won by Novi Sad. The interlocutors agreed that international cooperation is very important and that projects taking place at the local level have a favorable effect on its concrete implementation.

During the meeting, they also made reference to the EXIT Festival which traditionally attracts a large number of guests from the UK and said that such events are important for connecting people.

The Ambassador Sian MacLeod said that she will work hard to further strengthen the British-Serbian relations and the meeting concluded that there was ample room for diversified cooperation.
