AMBASSADOR OF CANADA VISITS NOVI SAD

Mayor of Novi Sad Miloš Vučević welcomed Ambassador of Canada to Serbia H.E. Philip Pinnington at the Reception Hall of the Novi Sad City Hall.
On the occasion, Mayor Vučević extended a warm welcome and expressed his hope that the newly-appointed Ambassador of Canada to Serbia will have successful years in service and that the relations between the two countries will grow even closer. Ambassador of Canada to Serbia H.E. Philip Pinnington thanked the Mayor for the reception and pointed out that it was his first visit to the City of Novi Sad.

During the discussions about the characteristics and potentials of Novi Sad, the Mayor especially emphasized the city’s multiethnic and multiconfessional environment, which has nurtured coexistence of numerous nations for centuries. Afterwards, attention was drawn to great potentials enriching the city, primarily the IT sector which leads in the level of development and which is of ever greater interest to foreign investors.

The ambassador emphasized the importance of international promotion of agriculture at the Novi Sad Fair, as well as that cooperation in that domain has been supported by numerous state agreements.
During the meeting, the officials agreed that there are strong amicable connections between Canada and Serbia, and the objective is to make the relations even closer and more formally established on various levels.
