“VOJVODINA” WATERPOLO CLUB CELEBRATES 80 YEARS

Member of the City Council in Charge for Youth and Sports Mr. Predrag Svilar attended today marking of the “Vojvodina” Water Polo Club great jubilee – the Club’s 80th anniversary. The Club Administration reminded the guess of the successes and results within the last eight decades.

- Water Polo is a sport which has always brought us a lot of satisfaction, and “Vojvodina” is a club which gave outstanding players, which certainly contributes to success of the sport. High-quality approach, as well as the school which is among best in the region and which already creates future champions, are only some of the reasons why this club deserves attention and support of the City of Novi Sad – stated Mr. Svilar.

“Vojvodina” is the oldest club in its league. Within the last 80 years, it trained more than 10,000 members, 22 presidents, 14 first coaches, and 6 national team members an one coach who won World or European Championship gold came from Novi Sad. The club has over 100 World Selection matches annually.

Following the reception, a World League Match was played between Serbia and Spain, in which Serbia won with 13 to 12.
