HUNGARIAN DELEGATION VISITS NOVI SAD

Member of the City Council in charge of Social welfare and child and family care prof. Nikola Ćirović, PhD, and assistant to the Mayor Kiss Gyula, received at the City Hall the members of the Hungarian delegation visiting Novi Sad. The Hungarian delegation was represented by the Mayor of Baks Búza Zsolt, as well as the Assistant Secretary at the Ministry of Human Resources of the Republic of Hungary Viktor Katálin Langerné, followed by the chief coordinator at the Ministry of Human Resources Sztojka Attila and project manager Polyak Terez.

The purpose of today’s visit was the presentation of the Roma Inclusion Program and improvement of their position in society that will be achieved through the Cross-Border Cooperation Program between Hungary and Serbia.

Member of the City Council in charge of Social welfare and child and family care prof. Nikola Ćirović, PhD, welcomed the guests on behalf of the host and said that in order for the position of Roma to improve, it is necessary to completely involve them in the social, economic, cultural and political life. To achieve that goal, systemic solutions are necessary, which would provide Roma with more efficient approach to the areas in which they are most underpriviledged: housing, education, work, social and heath care. Mr. Ćirović added that experience of the Hungarian delegation is of great importance on the way to realizing this objective.
