THE BALKAN U17 BADMINTON CHAMPIONSHIP 2015 BEGINS IN NOVI SAD

Member of the City Council in charge for Sports and Youth Mr. Predrag Svilar officially opened today the Balkan U17 Badminton Championship 2015 in Novi Sad. The Championship is taking place until August 30th in Novi Sad, organized by the Serbia Badminton Association, with support from the City of Novi Sad and the Ministry of Sports and Youth of the Republic of Serbia. 

- We are very proud that Novi Sad is hosting the Balkan U17 Badminton Championship 2015. Our city is well-known as the center of youth sport and an excellent host of grand events, and this is one more opportunity to prove our qualities and position ourselves at the European map as the youth sports capital. – said Mr. Svilar and wished all the participants a pleasant stay in Novi Sad, as well as many more excelling results in competitions to follow.

At the Balkan U17 Badminton Championship 2015, as many as 150 athletes are participating, as official representatives of Turkey, Croatia, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Romania, Macedonia and Serbia. The Championship promoter is Dragoslav Petrović, a young Serbian Olympic competitor who so far won 11 medals at various European and world junior championships.
