WE ARE SERVING NOVI SAD
It is a big obligation and responsibility to be the head of Novi Sad, the most beautiful city in Serbia. The success of each work depends on the people who make decisions, on their performance in solving many problems faced every day. Therefore, it is important to appoint the most capable people to the most responsible positions, and we can do that only if we secure a society where everyone would have equal chances of fulfillment and where people who need help would be taken care of as well. A fight for such a society is a lasting process, and it is necessary for each one of us to give our share, so as to have as little injustice as possible, because injustice is something that hurts people the most.
Our city can advance only if we all make effort to do our job as responsible and as good as possible, and if we compare our city to those on a higher level of development, and collaborate with them. If we compare ourselves to those worse than us, we will always be content and one day they will surpass us. I am proud that Novi Sad can be compared to every European city in many aspects, however it is important to define the goals that will lead us to further progress and that will make the lives of our fellow citizens even better.
Clear goals, short-term and long-term plans and strategy for the city development should not depend on who is in power in Novi Sad. We have to reach an agreement on the most important things, those our city's development depends on, as well as the development of our society and indirectly of ourselves. That is why we have set the goal, common for all our fellow citizens, the one of better life for each individual. Such a goal we can accomplish only by having strong economy, if our city becomes the seat of a large number of small, medium and large companies, either national or foreign.
We can achieve strong economic growth if our fellow citizens are satisfied and if we adapt the infrastructure of the city to its future. Energy sustainability of all systems, battle for a healthy environment, the building of bridges, boulevards, and a detour around Novi Sad, and the solving of the problem of water supply and waste water purification, are all necessary for our city to develop and advance and for us to be better than we are now.
That is the Novi Sad I am fighting for every day and at the end of each day, week, and month, I analyse how successful the battle was. Word "fight" is not too strong, because we live in the times full of challenges, where we often face problems we were not able to anticipate, and whose solutions do not always depend only on ourselves. That is why I expect your support, because there is no problem which cannot be solved, there is no goal which cannot be reached with every one of us giving their full contribution.
